 tions are 6-Round individual Swiss tournaments with participation open to a
 ny Wisconsin student in grades K-12, K-8 or K-5 respectively. No out-of-sta
 te entries are allowed in this event.\nPlayers of all abilities are encoura
 ged to participate. This is not a US Chess rated event.\n \nSCHEDULE:\n Sat
 urday: \nRound 1 -  9:30    \nRound 2 -  Noon\nRound 3 -  2:30\nRound 4 -  
 5:00\nSunday:         \nRound 5 -  9:00       \nRound 6 - 11:30    \nAwards
  – 3:00  \n \nThe time control for the JV, K-8 and K-5 is Game in 60 minute
 s with a 5 second delay. Clocks will be available for checkout. Please have
  your players bring an ID to check out these clocks.\n \nPLAYING SITE:  The
  playing site is the Reeve Memorial Student Union, UW-Oshkosh, 800 Algoma B
 lvd., Oshkosh, WI. The skittles room will be Reeve Union cafeteria. Room 22
 1 will be the Tournament Director’s room. Day parking can be found in lot 1
 5 across the street from Reeve Union and is free on the weekend. The Reeve 
 Union Marketplace Sub Connection will be open both days 8:30 am – 1:30 pm. 
 The Pizza Hut will be open 11 am – 1:30 pm. The Titan Underground will be o
 pen 10 am – 2 pm both weekend days.\n \nPRIZES:  In each of the Junior Vars
 ity, K-8 and K-5 sections, the top ten individuals and the top six teams wi
 ll be awarded trophies. The state championship title and traveling trophies
  will be presented to the K-8 and K-5 team champions. Every participant is 
 eligible for an additional award (medal, chocolate or fruit leather), espec
 ially if they castle!\n \nENTRY FEE:  The early bird entry fee is $35 per p
 layer if received by March 6th. The regular entry fee is $45 per player if 
 received by March 16th. The late entry fee is $60 per player and is accepte

 MODATIONS: Dorm rooms are available at Gruenhagen Conference Center for $40
  single or double plus a 10% room tax. Dorm rooms include two towels, a was
 hcloth, soap and linens per bed. To reserve your rooms, please call Gruenha
 gen directly at (920) 424-1106. Mention chess. Gruenhagen asks that one per
 son per team pay for the rooms and pick up the keys. Please note that Gruen
 hagen charges $115 for lost keys. There is a 5 P.M. Friday, March 10 cutoff
  for lodging room reservations. Making this deadline will better assure you
  of having your team stay together or even to get a room!  Reserve rooms ea
 rly. Due to UW-O students housing in Gruenhagen, space may be limited. Make
  lodging checks out to “UW-Oshkosh”. A 24-hour cancellation policy exists. 
 You will be charged one night’s lodging for rooms booked but not taken upon
  check in.\n \nPARKING: For parking around Gruenhagen cars should use the H
 igh Avenue ramp on the corner of High and Osceola Streets. Please use level
  1 or 3. Level 2 is reserved for resident students. Other possible parking 
 locations include Lot 30 at the end Gruenhagen. Day parking is free on the 
 weekend but UW-O now charges $5 for overnight parking. Purchase permits in

  in the dorms. Gruenhagen policy states: “Conference groups utilizing Gruen

  who are responsible for the behavior and activities of the participants. C
 haperones will be responsible for upholding the standards of behavior and p
 olicies as determined by the University. Within Gruenhagen Conference Cente
 r this includes compliance of the policies regarding window screen removal,
  excessive littering, disturbing noise, abuse to elevators, use of alcohol 
 and drugs and damage of University property.”  Please note that that among 
 other violations, Gruenhagen charges for furniture that has been moved betw
 een rooms, screen removal and for tampering with the smoke detector. Seriou
 s offenses will disallow a student from staying at the conference center in
  the future.\n \nCHECK IN/OUT POLICY:  All coaches or their adult designee 
 are responsible for checking out each lodging room assigned to their team u
