Kenosha $1000 State Line Shootout

Join Wisconsin and Illinois players as they battle for 16 trophies and over $1,000 in cash prizes in an official USCF-rated one day chess tournament! All players will play five rounds of chess in a Swiss-style tournament. There is no elimination. For all ages, beginners are welcome. Enjoy a beautiful, quiet hotel playing area with easy access from I-94, next to the famous Pleasant Prairie Outlet Mall. Earn your official USCF chess rating!
 
Time control: Rounds 1-3: Game/30 with 5 second delay. Rounds 4-5: Game/45 with 5 second delay.
 
Open Section: First $250, Second $200, Third $150 (based on 50 players total in all sections)
    Class Prizes 1400-1799: first $100, second $75, third $50
    Class Prizes Under 1400: first $100, second $75, third $50
    Unrated players in the Open section are eligible for the Top 3 prizes, but not for class prizes
 
K12 Under 1000 Section: Trophies to Top 5 Overall, prizes to Tenth Place, medals to 20th Place
     Class prizes K8 Under 800: Trophies to top 3 (unrated are eligible)
 
K5 Under 600 Section: Trophies to Top 5 Overall, prizes to Tenth Place, medals to all
    Class prizes K3 Under 400: Trophies to top 3 (unrated are eligible)
 
Entry Fees: Online $30 by 12/27, $40 by 12/31. Mail-in $35 must arrive by 12/27. Onsite $50.
    Free entry to GM and IM ($30 from winnings).
 
Schedule: On-site Registration 8 am to 9 am
    Open Section: Rounds 9:30 am, 11 am, 12:30 pm, 2 pm, 4 pm
    K5 and K12 sections: Round one 10 am, rounds will proceed ASAP, awards ceremony ASAP
 
USCF membership is required for all players. Join in advance at www.uschess.org

Hotel and Playing Site: Radisson Hotel & Conference Center, 11800 – 108th St, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158. Phone 262-857-3377 or 800-333-3333. Chess rate $99/night for 1-4 people, reserve by 12/21.
Lunch sandwich buffet available $12 adults, $6 kids 12 and under, call 262-857-3540 by 12/29, must pre-pay.
Free wireless is available in the hotel lobby and skittles room. Free parking. No smoking inside the hotel.
 
Byes: Only one half-point bye available for rounds 1-4, must be requested by 9 am on January 2nd

By mail: $35 must arrive by 12/27: mail name, USCF member ID, rating, expiration date, grade, section and requested bye to Allan Cargille, Attn: Chess, 10310 – 32nd Ave, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158. Check to “KCA”.
On-site registration: 8 to 9 am, pay by cash or check, entry fee $50
 
Refunds: Must contact TD staff by 9 am on January 2nd, $10 service charge for refunds.
 
Notes: Bring boards, sets and clocks. Spectators will be allowed in the playing areas, at the discretion of the Tournament Director. The Continental Chess Electronic Devices Policy will be followed. Other policies or rule changes may be announced at the tournament.
