In 4 Sections: Varsity, JV (K-12), K-8 and K-5.
Varsity: 5 person boarded team, 5 round Swiss using accelerated pairings for the first two rounds. Rounds: Saturday: 9:30 am, 1:15 pm and 5 pm. Sunday: 9 am and 12:30 pm. Teams will be divided into thirds for Division prizes but all have a chance to win the title and travelling trophy. Prizes: Teams: Trophies to top 8 in Division 1, top 6 in Division 2 and top 4 in Division 3. Trophies to each member of each division's team winner. Trophies to overall board champion in each division. Medals to all who score over 50% and do not win the board trophy. Time control is Game in 60 minutes with a 30 second increment per move. JV, K-8 and K-5: Individual 6 round Swiss. Rounds: Saturday: 9:30 am, Noon, 2:30 pm and 5 pm. Sunday: 9 am and 12:30 pm. Prizes: Top 6 teams (top 4 player's score from a school) and top 10 individuals in each section. Travelling trophies to K-8 and K-5 team champions. Medals to all who score over 50% and do not win an individual trophy. All K-5 participants will receive a certificate. Time control is Game in 60 minutes with a 5 second delay on Saturday and Game in 90 minutes with a 5 second delay on Sunday. Sets and boards provided. Please bring clocks.
US Chess ratings used for pairings if the player has one. US Chess membership not required.
All: Entry fees are $18 if paid by March 14. If paid March 15-March 20 the entry fee is $22. At site entry fees (Friday night or Saturday morning) is $26. Online registration available at https://www.kingregistration.com/tournaments.
Lodging: Gruenhagen Conference Center. (Dorm rooms) $40 + 10% room tax. (Schools must present a sales tax exemption certificate to not pay the tax.) 920-424-1106.
