2023-2024 Wisconsin Junior Open

Site: Gruenhagen Conference Center, UW-Oshkosh, Corner of High and Osceola St., Oshkosh, WI 54901.

Dorm Rates: $40 + 10% City Tax.  Schools must submit a sales tax exemption certificate to not have this charge applied. 920-424-1106.

Parking:  Overnight parking must be permitted.  Parking is $5 for overnight parking.  Non printed permits need to be purchased ahead of time at Parking Services (aimsparking.com).  Select ‘Purchase a Permit’ then ‘Weekend Visitor Permit’.

Open to Grades K-12 only.

In 5 Sections

1) High School:

Open to grades 9-12 only.  US Chess membership required.

Entry Fee: $20 in advance by 10/31; $25 at site.

Trophies: Top 5, Top Girl, Top 2 each B, C, D and E/Unrated.

2) K-8:

Open to grades K-8 only.  US Chess membership required.

Entry Fee: $20 in advance by 10/31; $25 at site.

Trophies: Top 5, Top Girl, Top 2 each C, D and E/Unrated.

3) Reserve (U900 or Unrated):

Open to K-12 but rated under 900 only.  US Chess membership required.

Entry Fee: $20 in advance by 10/31; $25 at site.

Trophies: Top 5, Top 2 each 600, 500, U500 and Unrated.

4) Non-Rated Beginners’ Grade 7-12:

Open to Grades 7-12.  US Chess membership not required.

Entry Fee: $19 in advance by 10/31; $24 at site.

Trophies: Top 5 and Top 3 Grade 7-9.

5) Non-Rated Beginners’ Grade K-6:

Open to Grades K-6.  US Chess membership not required.

Entry Fee: $19 in advance by 10/31; $24 at site.

Trophies: Top 5 and Top 3 Grade K-3.

All Sections: 5 round Swiss System

Time Control:  Game/120 minutes with a 5 second delay.

Onsite Registration: 11/4 8:45-9:30 A.M.  If pre-registered, check the list posted onsite.  No need to check in with the Tournament Director's.

Rounds: Saturday: 10:15-2:30-7:15 Sunday: 10:00-3:00.
