Eligibility

This event is open to all Wisconsin residents, former champions and students in WI schools. All entrants must be members of the US Chess Federation. US Chess membership may be purchased at the site. Wisconsin Chess Association membership is included in the entry. Our website address is www.wischess.org.

Schedule & Time Control

3-day Schedule for Premier and Reserve:

• Friday, Aug. 14th, 6:00 PM
• Saturday, Aug. 15th, 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM
• Sunday, Aug. 16th, 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM
• Time control all rounds G/90+30inc, increment beginning with move 1.
• One 1/2-point bye is available in the Premier or Reserve sections in rounds 1, 2, 3, or 4 if requested in advance of the tournament.

2-day Schedule for Premier and Reserve:

• Saturday, Aug. 15th, 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM
  • Time control for rounds 1 & 2: G/60 with 5 second delay
• Time control for rounds 3-5: G/90+30inc, increment beginning with move 1.
• Third round at 4:00 PM Saturday Aug. 23rd
• Sunday, Aug. 24th, 10:00 AM and 3:30 PM
• One 1/2-point bye is available in the Premier or Reserve sections in rounds 1, 2, 3, or 4 if requested in advance of the tournament.

1-day Schedule for Novice: 4-rounds on Saturday, Aug. 15th: 10:00, 1:00, 3:30, and 6:00. Time control all rounds: G/60 with 5 second delay.

  • Register by Aug.2, 2026:
    • $70, $80 by 8/9, $100 after 8/9
    • Class B players wishing to "play up" to the Premier: +$20
    • Players Under 1600 cannot play up
  • Free Entry to Players Rated 2200+ if committed before August 2nd
    • $50 deducted from any prize.
• Reserve (Under 1801)
  • Register by Aug.2, 2026:
    • $70, $80 by 8/9, $100 after 8/9
• Novice (Under 1200)
  • Register by Aug.2, 2026:
    • $40, $45 by 8/9, $50 after 8/9

Refund Policy:

More than 24 hours before Round 1:
Refund minus $5 administrative fee or one-time transfer to a comparable tournament within 3 months.

Less than 24 hours before Round 1:
50% refund or one-time transfer to a comparable tournament within 3 months.

After Round 1 begins:
Entry fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred.
