2018 Wisconsin Action Chess State Championships
(Open and Scholastic)
PLAYING SITE: Shorewood Hills Elementary School, 1105 Shorewood Blvd, Madison WI 53705
SECTIONS: Open section is open to everyone (must be a US Chess member as this is a rated event). Scholastic section is open to K-12 players, including beginners (not rated).
SCHEDULE: everyone plays four games, there is no elimination. Time control is 30 minutes (with 5 sec delay) per game for each player. Late registration and check-in is at 9:00-9:30am. Rounds are at 10am, 11:30am, 1:15pm, and 2:30pm. Award ceremony is shortly after 3:30pm
PRIZES: Open section offers $600 in cash prizes (based on 30 players). Scholastic section offers 20 individual and 5 team trophies. All winners are recognized as State Champions.
ENTRY: $30 for Open, $25 for Scholastic if received by March 1st ($10 if enter afterwards). Checks payable to and mail to: WI Chess Academy, 1280 Greenway Terrace #1, Brookfield WI 53005. Please include your school name and grade if entering Scholastic Section.
